I'm currently working on a super fun summer shawl done in collaboration with Thoroughly Thwacked, a dyer hailing from Hillsboro, OR. The shawl I'm working on reminds me of melons! I can't wait until summer fruits start appearing in the markets!
She has added a new line called Vixen to her yarns, and I can vouch for how lovely it is! It is a highly energized single in a light fingering weight dyed a variety of vibrant colors! It is 70% merino/30% silk, but it shines and feels as if there's more silk in there than that!
I have actually had to frog this shawl no less than three times so far... (calculation error, ugh!) and the yarn has held up remarkably well for a single! It must be how energized it is. Despite the occasional extra twist here or there, I've not had any issues of it twisting up too much on me like I have some other yarns. In addition, the high twist leads to great stitch definition, which can sometimes be lost with a single ply yarn. I can't wait to show you the shawl as it continues! :oD
